Ready To Take off

Launches & Stuff

What do the U.S., Russia, Japan, the ESA, China, India, New Zealand, Israel, SpaceX, and ULA all have in common? They all launch rockets! Keep up to date on who is launching what, and when it will blast off!

“The rocket worked perfectly except for landing on the wrong planet.” Wernher Von Braun

The U.S., Russia, China, the European Union, India, Israel, New Zealand, Japan, and even Iran all have space programs. Most are government-run, but there are several private companies or corporate consortiums too: SpaceX and ULA being the two best-known, but Virgin and Blue Origin are in the game as well.

Some of these only launch occasionally; some launch as frequently as they can. Test missions, cargo missions, and satellite launches share the stage with manned missions to the ISS.

We’ll keep you up to date on the commercialization of Space, too, from Space Tourism to commercial Space ventures.

We’ll let you know about events planned at the International Space Station; crew and cargo arrivals, departures, and EVA’s (Extra-Vehicular Activities, or “Space Walks”).

Learn about discoveries made by the Hubble Space Telescope, and its successor, the James Webb Telescope.

Learn why astronomers aren’t all that happy with the Starlink program.

What are the two Voyager probes encountering? We’ll let you know when they make new discoveries that help us define the limits and boundaries of our Solar System.

What is the fate of the Mars Rovers? What will continue their mission next?

If it has anything to do with Mankind’s continuing desire to learn about everything “out there”, we’ll try our best to include it here!

We are looking for someone who is either already knowledgable about launch schedules, probe results, optical, radio, and other varieties of telescopes, and so on, or who is willing to do some research and fill out, expand, and curate this page.
